Illinois families pay the highest property taxes in the nation. In fact, Illinoisans don't actually own their homes. They're collateral for someone else's pension. State Rep. Michelle Mussman has introduced legislation to increase the homeowner property tax exemption. How would the bill actually impact property taxes?
