Recently, the Illinois General Assembly passed a state budget that increased income taxes 32%, extends the sales tax to services that hadn’t been taxes before, like dry cleaning, cable TV and The Cloud. It also raised the Corporate Tax rate 35%. While the budget increased taxes, it made no reforms to state government. Illinois families are already paying the highest property taxes in the nation. What does this tax hike mean for them?
