Hate Has a Home on the Left

If you have to pass a resolution saying we, in the House, won't tolerate anti-Semitism, what does that say about what you, in the House, have been tolerating?

Even more astounding than the panoply of vile statements that earned Rep. Ilhan Omar a David Duke endorsement, is the enabling of anti-Semitism by Jewish members of Congress.

The whole Omar affair is illustrative of identity politics. The pursuit of political power demands some cultural Marxists create an identity and others abandon theirs. The key is everyone plays nice on the noxious, intersectional playground.

So Rachel Dolezal is black. Bruce Jenner is a woman. And Rep. Jan Schakowsky is an apologist for anti-Semitism who chalks up Omar’s intemperance to a cultural difference suggesting that Omar didn't say what she said and didn’t mean what she meant.

It turns out hate does have a home on the Left.

Socialists Push for Orwell’s 1984, Will Get Mondale’s 1984

I recently remarked to a friend in Chicago that big cities seem to be missing the folks who once roamed the streets wearing sandwich boards scrawled with dire predictions about end times and accosted unsuspecting pedestrians.

I found them. They’re running for President in 2020.

Like chicks behind Boss Chicken Little, as determined by her number of Twitter followers, each of the Democrat Socialist POTUS candidates put their scratch mark of assent on the deindustrialization of America known as the Green New Deal.

How totalitarian are the tendencies of this field?

California U.S. Senator Kamala Harris, who would eliminate private health insurance, confer racial reparations, institutionalize infanticide, legalize drugs, decriminalize prostitution, and impose San-Fran-style rent control, is touted as a moderate.

2020 could be the year that Socialists in pursuit of Orwell’s 1984 instead get Mondale’s 1984 and inadvertently preserve American liberty for at least another generation.

The End Of Chicago

On April 2nd, Chicago will make history with its first duly-elected black, female mayor—and likely its first lesbian mayor.

The real significance of the election will be to signal the completion of Chicago’s transition from The Superfans to The SuperFrench; from Grabowskis in hard hats to political mobsters sporting soft cuticles.

The two mayoral finalists are distinctions without a difference. One argues for taxing hotels to publicly fund artists while the other advocates for taxing everything from sugary drinks to bullets.

Chicago has gone from the City That Works to the city that works you over.

Middle-income families have declined three-fold in the last two decades.

Black families are fueling a second Great Migration, this time away from Chicago.

Chicago was always a cut me in or cut it out town.

The kleptocrats cut in the Socialists to the exclusion of all else. So that’s all who’s left.

The Sexual Revolution’s Final Frontier

The sexualization of children will be televised.

It’s on Hulu in the form of a masturbating grade schooler in the series “Pen15.”

It’s on “Good Morning America” where an 11-year-old drag queen danced provocatively to the approval of the hosts and studio audience alike.

Gore Vidal would be a prude by the standards of today’s Caligulan culture.

In 2015, an admitted pedophile argued in Salon.com that, “Society preventing children from engaging in sex play and romance play is akin to preventing them from learning to swim.”

Today, the response from New York state legislators to sex trafficking is to legalize prostitution

The SJW response to sex abuse by Catholic clergy is to remove the celibacy vow for priests.

The response to the latest sexual abuse charges against R. Kelly is for his attorney to assert an implicit consent defense.

The sexual revolution is on the cusp of conquering its final frontier.

Ask Not Why They Did It But What They Serve

Why would the billionaire owner of the NFL’s most successful franchise patronize a brothel?

Why would a successful actor perpetrate a fraud on the nation for a pay raise?

Why would an international music superstar prey on young girls?

Why would they risk everything? What’s in it for them?

Those questions are dead ends in the search for an explanation for this depraved conduct.

To understand why one must ask the question, “What do they serve?”

As with the high-profile cheaters and reprobates before them, R. Kelly and R. Kraft and Smollett are C.S. Lewis’ men without chests.

They are walking pleasure centers seeking only to serve their visceral wants: celebrity, money, carnal release.

They are the byproduct of a culture that celebrates the unrestrained indulgence of one’s appetites over objective truth.

What a society extols it begets. And so we have begotten R. Kelly, R. Kraft and Smollett.

Take The Deal

As soon as President Trump deleveraged by ending the partial government shutdown, obtaining only a fraction of the money and miles of border barriers he wanted was inevitable.

Rather than quarreling about whether this is a win now, Trump should use it as the stepping stone on the path to victory in 2020.

Trump will have pictures of new infrastructure along the border, the support of border patrol and stats demonstrating a decline in illegal crossings.

That will be more than enough evidence to wipe away the specific numbers on miles and dollars from the concerns of most voters, particularly his base.

He should take the deal and build on it.

Trump should leave the Democrat Socialists to rail against inanimate objects and find an accommodation for DACA designees to cement his position as a leader who cares about the safety of human beings on both sides of the border.

The Intolerable Cruelty of Lawless Immigration

President Trump was right to declare in his State of the Union Address that ruling elites’ tolerance for illegal immigration is not compassionate but cruel.

The Fortune 500 C-suite GOP donor and the open borders, #AbolishICE Democrat Socialists practice the same form of sentimental barbarism.

Both treat illegal immigrants inhumanely—as the means to their short-term ends.

For the effete GOP donor, the illegal immigrant is useful economically. For the wild-eyed Marxist, the illegal immigrant is useful politically.

The effete GOP donor reduces his labor cost while the wild-eyed Marxist increases his cadre of reliable voters.

Both cohorts demagogue their respective parties with bigot-baiting rhetoric to frighten them away from the sort of compromise Trump proffered consistent with the promise of America Emma Lazarus articulated.

Virtuous immigration policy puts a welcome mat in front of our golden door and opens it to new Americans who will serve the long-term interests of America for generations to come.

The Philosophy of Infanticide

Virginia Governor Ralph Northam may soon be moonwalking out of our lives forever but the Democrat Socialists’ support for infanticide isn’t going anywhere.

Northam’s recent support for killing a baby after birth followed Andrew Cuomo lighting up the New York skyline in celebration of the same.

This is who cultural Marxists are.

The cultural Marxist isn’t making a scientific argument when he offers the bumper-sticker paeans to “women’s reproductive health.” He is making a philosophical one.

The proponent of infanticide is the utilitarian.

Their philosophical leader is Princeton University Bioethicist Peter Singer who says what the standard-issue cultural Marxist pol won’t when he argues that a baby’s right to life is contingent on the happiness he enjoys and brings to others.

Singer argues it is okay to kill a disabled child if that killing will lead to the birth of a non-disabled child with better prospects for a happy life and the creation of enjoyment for others.

Utilitarianism is the mentality that promotes a culture of death.

King’s Legacy Has Become A Shakespearean Tragedy

“If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as a Michelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music or Shakespeare wrote poetry.”

That was Rev. Martin Luther King’s appeal to work as soulcraft in his 1967 “Street Sweeper” speech at New Covenant Baptist Church in Chicago.

Today those words are blasphemy to Leftist elites who invoke his name while seeking to expunge from history those names King called forth.

Yale dropped Shakespeare as required reading for English Literature majors—as have most of America’s top-ranked universities—in response to the contention that his transcendental works on human nature somehow create a hostile campus environment for persons of color.

King was a man of letters who argued the purpose of education was to “teach one to think intensively and think critically.”

Today the politicized professoriate would rather students not think at all.

King understood Escalus’ observation in Measure for Measure that, “Some by sin do rise and others by virtue fall.”

It’s a Shakespearean tragedy for black and white alike that so few of today’s students do.

De Blasio Demands, Show Me Your Hands

“Brothers and sisters, there’s plenty of money in the world. There’s plenty of money in this city. It’s just in the wrong hands.”

Those are the words of New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio on the occasion of introducing his plan for single-payer, government-run health care at the municipal level.

de Blasio’s use of the phrase "brothers and sisters" is instructive as it is religious.

As Chesterton observed, when people lose their faith in the Almighty, they don't believe in nothing. They believe in anything.

Rather than an omniscient God, more place their faith in an omnipotent state and bishops of big government like de Blasio.

Being a Socialist in the 20th century meant never having to account for the body count. Today, it means de Blasio’s political self interest is nobler than your economic self interest.

Understanding that when he says money is in the “wrong hands,” he may well be talking about yours.

Oprah's Mom

“Lots of people would’ve told you to abort that baby. You didn’t do that. I know that was hard. I want you to know that no matter what, I know that you always did the best you knew how to do. And look how it turned out.”

Those are the touching words Oprah Winfrey used to say goodbye to her mother who passed away on Thanksgiving Day this year.

Look how it turned out indeed. Vernita Lee’s daughter is now a billionaire instantly identified the world over by the mere utterance of her first name.

Oprah may not preach what her mom practiced but thankfully more Americans are choosing Vernita Lee’s example over her daughter’s.

In the last decade abortions in the U.S. have declined by 25%, according to the CDC.

Even as secular humanism has poisoned so many American institutions, sacred and civic, prayer warriors, Planned Parenthood defectors and the pregnancy centers who tend to families in crisis are winning hearts and minds.

As we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, we should also celebrate that the culture of life is beating back cultural Marxism.

DNC Boss: God's In The Way

The path to putting a Democrat in the White House runs through God.

That’s not me saying God favors Republicans.

That’s potty-mouthed DNC Chairman Tom Perez saying God’s faithful disapprove of Tom’s faithful because of Biblical instruction on pesky issues like life and death.

Quoting from Perez’s comments on the clergy, “…that person on the pulpit is saying ‘ignore everything else that this person (Trump) has done and is doing, we have to focus on one issue of Roe v. Wade.’ And people buy it because that’s their only source.”

Perez is at once troubled by Americans who think checks and balances apply to the Judicial Branch and life is a gift from God not to be easily discarded.

Perez is additionally unnerved by churchgoers who lean on spiritual leaders working from western civilization’s source material rather than finding their righteous footing from Sister Maddow’s jeremiads.

The short of it is Tom Perez would like you to stop attending church because it puts a real crimp in the ability of Democrats to make the state your god.

Save Asia Bibi

The most profound action on immigration President Trump can take at present has nothing to do with walls, troops or 9th Circuit pronouncements.

It is to extend religious asylum to a Pakistani woman named Asia Bibi and her family.

Bibi survived eight years in a Pakistani gulag with the prospect of execution hanging over her head like the Sword of Damocles each day.

Her crime: being a Christian.

Since being released she and her family are under constant threat of assassination by the Islamofascists who’ve overrun Pakistan.

In a shameful episode of cowardice, putative peaceful pluralists in the West have turned a deaf ear to Bibi.

The opportunity for Trump to have his Emma Lazarus moment here is as yuge as is the moral imperative.

Provide a tutorial for Trump-haters and the DC press corps (I repeat myself) on the difference between economic migrants and asylum-seekers.

Reward the faith placed in you by the faithful of all faiths by demonstrating you will not abide religious persecution.

Shame the big talkers on multiculturalism now sitting idly by--from America’s Democrat Socialists to Western Europe’s Socialist Democrats to Pope Francis.

Mr. President, save Asia Bibi.

We're Doing It Wrong

Arizona’s Republican Governor Doug Ducey earned 44% of the Latino vote en route to his easy re-election.

No hand recount for Governor-elect Ron DeSantis in Florida who garnered 44% of the Latino vote and 14% of the black vote.

The 400,000 Florida kids and 260,000 Arizona kids who benefit from school choice, the majority from minority families, are reshaping the GOP’s electoral coalitions in those states.

White Guilt author Shelby Steele argues this occurrence is more than a powerful argument for school choice. It’s a messaging imperative for conservatives.

As Steele told me, black families have moved beyond the idealism of the Civil Rights era to search for pragmatic answers to the economic concerns the welfare state not only failed to address but worsened.

By contrast, Champagne Socialists in the leafy suburbs are in search of a moral calling. The “Black Lives Matter” yard sign in the lawn of your local Mayflower descendant should’ve been a tipoff.

Bottom line: we’ve been making the wrong arguments to the wrong constituents.

Fiscal conservatism has limited appeal to the vanguard class as does pantomiming Al Sharpton with minority families.

For the latter, it’s money they lack. For the former, to borrow from James Earl Jones in Field of Dreams, “It’s money they have and peace they lack.”

Suburban Moms

What to do about suburban moms?

The GOP lost suburban women by 19 points in the midterms.

It was well-to-do suburban moms who gave Democrats the House.

Should Republicans shame them as the Left does?

Should Republicans pander to them with the “Hi, my name is Dan. I’m a Republican and I apologize,” approach they’ve been using.

How about eliminating their unique designation.

Political messaging needs to be a succinct with a point.

Here’s mine for suburban moms: other than the special role you have in raising your children, you are not special.

You’re supposed to be a civilizing influence.

Instead you’ve thrown in with the mob pounding on Tucker Carlson’s front door while his wife was locked in her kitchen pantry waiting for police to arrive.

I’m not impressed with your B.A. in Ancient Civilizations from Vassar.

You don’t care about good schools or public safety any more than I do.

You’re not doing any more of Corporal Works of Mercy than I am.

Adhering to Economics 101 axioms doesn’t make me a misogynist.

And I’m not responsible for the man you chose to marry.

Here’s my value proposition for you and every other man and woman, whatever their race, religion, age, education and household income: separate bathrooms and equal protection under the law.

Take it or leave it.

The Midterms Won't Change The Left

Potty-mouthed DNC Chairman Tom Perez said bigotry is on the ballot in the midterm election.

True. But it is the Left’s bigotry.

The most enduring takeaway from this election cycle is that the Left has one and only one solution to every policy challenge: bigot-baiting.

Spin the wheel. Pick an issue.

Advocate for border security by using the very real example of an illegal immigrant cop killer and CNN’s Kate Bolduan calls you a racist.

Defend an individual’s Second Amendment right to self-protection and you’re conspiring with white supremacists and “demonizing Jews,” as former DNC Chairman Howard Dean said of President Trump.

Support voter ID laws to protect every American’s franchise and you’re in the business of preventing poor and black people from voting, said CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin.

Exist as a white man and you’re by definition part of the greatest terror threat facing America, per CNN’s Don Lemon, and are likely to be radicalized to commit a hate-inspired crime by President Trump, according to GQ’s Julia Ioffe.

The Democrat Socialists live at the intersection of vacuous identity politics and mindless rage.

It’s a dangerous neighborhood and a terrible place to locate a country.

The Left's Blame Game

I know there’s nothing new in this world, but the Left’s routine is getting quite old.

Just as the Left contended Sarah Palin’s crosshairs art over digital congressional maps was responsible for the Gabby Giffords shooting, so we’re now told President Trump’s dismissal of the DC press corps as “fake news” and declaration that Don Lemon is the dumbest man on TV is to blame for the bomb delivered to CNN.

“Words matter,” declared CNN President Jeff Zucker.

Mattering is not a synonym for causation.

When a Utah man was indicted earlier this month for sending a threatening, ricin-laced letter to Trump, I don’t recall CNN featuring any roundtable discussions or accusatory chryons suggesting the “Trump is Hitler” crowd was to blame.

When a Bernie Sanders supporter opened fire on congressional Republicans, I don’t remember any suggestion from the Left that Comrade Bernie’s overheated criticisms of Trump as a totalitarian incited the shooting. CNN treated the whole matter more like a local crime story than an attempted political assassination.

What’s the standard for establishing who’s liable for political violence, you ask?

Depends on the target is the DC press corps’ answer.

Words do matter, as CNN’s Zucker said.

And the words offered by human refrigerator magnets impersonating political leaders and the Democrat Party’s comms team masquerading as journalists are precisely what elected Trump and will re-elect him.

Little White Liars

First they came for the “man-size” Kleenex tissue.

It won’t be long before they come for the Manwich—and then the Sloppy Joe entirely.

We don’t like this but we can’t stop it. Why?

80% of Americans oppose so-called “political correctness”, according to British researchers.

Racial minorities dislike it more than whites.

The young don't like it any better than the old.

With such overwhelming opposition, how does it persist?

Because people have assented to things they know to be untrue.

Complicity in the lies eliminates resistance.

The supermajority’s abdication leaves a power vacuum a band of little white liars is happy to fill.

As the British psychiatrist Theodore Dalrymple noted in comparing political correctness to communist propaganda, “To assent to obvious lies is to co-operate with evil, and in some small way to become evil oneself. One’s standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed.

A society of emasculated liars is easy to control.”

Therein lies the purpose of political correctness: control.

Therein lies the solution: don’t be an emasculated liar.

Stand up for what you know to be true or prepare to live life forever on your knees.

GOP’s National Supermajority Will Help Hold Their Congressional Majorities

The dismal TV drones are missing something important in handicapping the midterms.

They obsess about how narrow are the GOP congressional majorities without considering the supermajorities Republicans enjoy in state houses and governors’ mansions across the country.

That’s called political infrastructure and it matters.

Local political officials and operatives have credibility with voters and thus turnout capacity that can’t be bought with Michael Bloomberg’s millions.

Federal races are not national elections. They’re local ones.

Just as local races can be federalized so can federal races be localized.

Popular Republican governors with Republican legislative majorities matter too.

That’s good news for key Senate and House races in Arizona, Florida, Indiana, Nevada, North Dakota, Tennessee and Texas

The state and local Republicans in these states are popular because they’ve made choices in advance of economic liberty that have improved the vitality of life for their constituents, as a report earlier this year by the American Legislative Exchange Council found.

It’s not complicated.

I suspect voters in these states may elect to continue to keep it simple on November 6th by sticking with what’s working.

The Helpful Senate Democrats

Thank you, Senators Pagliacci Schumer, Quarters Whitehouse, T-Bone Booker, Missing in Action Blumenthal, Hang ‘Em High Hirono, Clammy Coons, Methuselah Feinstein, Kamala the Congenial and Sack of Durbin.

You’ve provided much needed clarity.

We now know the Left’s definition of “being mean”.

It is not mean to attack a GOP senator on his front lawn and put him in the hospital.

It is not mean to berate conservatives in restaurants, in front of elevators and in other public places.

It is not mean to call a conservative judge a rapist without basis and to lampoon the pre-adolescent child of said judge in a political cartoon.

It is mean to challenge the credibility of a woman who has made an allegation regardless of evidentiary support.

We now also know the Left’s definition of justice.

A conservative, white, Christian man is not to defend himself against allegations made by a woman.

A conservative, white, Christian man should not be afforded the presumption of innocence, the legal standard and cultural norm of a free society.

Only liberal judges like Ruth Bader Ginsburg can make partisan statements—labeling Trump a “faker” and calling on him to release his tax returns—and maintain their impartiality.

This has been immensely helpful, Senators. You’ve given Americans a lot to think about it in advance of November 6th.
